his people were like refugees.

They had been treated badly in captivity.

As freed slaves they were wild and did not know how to behave.
They needed good rules to live by so that they could be happy together.
God had chosen Moses to lead and teach them. Read about him below.

Ten ways to be happy.

Ten ways to be happy
Ten ways to be happy

Moses got the commandments
on a mountain but if he came today
Brother Moses might be on your TV
And here’s what he would say.

God gives us
Ten ways to be happy
Ten ways to be happy.

Have no other gods but me.
It’s the first way to be happy.

Ten ways to be happy
Ten ways to be happy.

Don’t worship any images
And don’t make things your god.
God won’t share you, He knows
 you’re His.
He’ll show you all His love.

Ten ways to be happy
Third way to be happy.

Love God’s name and use it carefully
Ten ways to be happy.

Ten ways to be happy
Fourth way to be happy.

Make a time that’s pure and quiet
A time when you can pray
Do it every week on Sunday.
Do it every day.

Ten ways to be happy
Ten ways to be happy.

Love your mother, love your father
It’s the fifth way to be happy.

Ten ways to be happy
Ten ways to be happy.

Remember these, the last five are easy
Don’t kill, don’t steal, don’t lie
Be true and faithful to the one you love
Don’t want or covet what you see with your eyes.

Ten ways to be happy
Ten ways to be happy.

Love every one and treat them right
Love God with all your might

And those are
Ten ways to be happy
Ten ways to be happy.

AGENDA

How obeying the Ten Commandments, today, enables us to behave well, and everyone can be happy.

Doing what’s nearest right enables our true substance to be seen. It takes off the layers of mortal-man which seem to cover up what is spiritually real about us. Nothing can change the substance of what we really are in God’s eyes!

Take a blue piece of paper and cover it with a yellow film and it appears green. So it is with poor behaviour. We need to be cleanly and transparently expressing God for our goodness [blue] to be seen.

Keep up the brill. work in obeying the Ten Commandments as this is the best way to bring God into our lives and to get on with our brothers and sisters.

Ten Ways to Be Happy is not a glib song! Being obedient makes things go well for us and saves time! They are a short cut to good behaviour as they mean we can get on with our lives more simply. No worry of problems, as we peel off the coloured [yellow] film of mistakes needing rectification.

So The Ten Commandments show how we can treasure our purity [remember our native colour] then we get into good habits of behaviour….. and really are HAPPY.

The story of The Prodigal Son shows how important it is to remember our true substance.
